IHHN and Iqra University Join Forces to Empower the Next Generation of Healthcare Innovators
Indus Hospital & Health Network and Iqra University, Karachi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on August 1, 2025, at IHHN’s Korangi Campus, formalizing a strategic partnership aimed at fostering innovation, mentorship, and skill development among students. The collaboration focuses on bridging the gap between academia and healthcare industry by launching joint initiatives in research, healthcare IT, entrepreneurship, and practical training.
Under the MoU, IHHN will provide expert mentorship, training programs, and hands-on exposure to real-time healthcare settings. Students from IU will gain access to workshops, hackathons, and innovation showcases where they can present business ideas, receive industry feedback, and explore opportunities for funding and development. The partnership will also enable students to experience the operations of a fully paperless hospital environment—providing valuable insight into digital transformation in healthcare.
In addition, IU faculty will be actively involved in academic activities organized in collaboration with Indus University of Health Sciences, while IU will offer access to its laboratories, co-working spaces, and facilities to support incubation and collaborative innovation. The MoU reflects a shared vision to equip future healthcare professionals with the skills, exposure, and ethical grounding required to bring positive change in the healthcare ecosystem.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by senior leadership and faculty members from both institutions. From IHHN, participants included Dr. Syed Zafar Zaidi CEO IHHN, Mr. Shakeel Akhter Chief Information Officer, Mr. Mufaddal, Mr. Kashif Mehmood, Mr. Junaid Noor, Ms. Asma Haider, and Ms. Falak Noor. Representing Iqra University were Dr. Arshad Aziz Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Sciences & Technology (FEST), Dr. Moona Kanwal Head of Department, Software Engineering, Dr. Lubna Aziz Head of Department, Artificial Intelligence, and Mr. Asad ur Rehman Head, Industry Liaison Committee.
