Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal Visits Indus Hospital Karachi, Commends Indus Model as a Beacon of Welfare Healthcare in Pakistan

Federal Health Minister, Syed Mustafa Kamal, paid a special visit to The Indus Hospital, Karachi, where he was received by Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), and Syed Mashhood Rizvi, Executive Director of the Communication & Resource Development Directorate at IHHN.

The visit included a detailed tour of the newly expanded hospital facility, where the minister was briefed on the Network’s comprehensive and free-of-cost healthcare system operating across Pakistan. The delegation visited key areas of the hospital including the Pediatric Oncology Ward, Emergency Department, Family Medicine Clinics, Surgical ICUs, Adult Wards, Consultant Clinics, and Blood Center.

During the tour, the Federal Minister expressed satisfaction over the quality of medical care and modern infrastructure being provided to patients. He was particularly impressed by the IHHN model of care, which offers world-class treatment free of charge to all, without any discrimination or VIP protocol.

Minister Kamal praised the vision and leadership of Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, acknowledging his outstanding contribution to transforming healthcare delivery in Pakistan.

“Indus Hospital is a shining example of a welfare-based healthcare system in Pakistan. Improving the quality of healthcare is one of the topmost priorities of the government, and initiatives like Indus can truly bring about a revolution in public health,” said Syed Mustafa Kamal.

The minister also appreciated IHHN’s efforts in expanding access to quality healthcare across the country and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting innovative and inclusive health models like Indus.
