Zahran Children’s Foundation Brings Joy to Pediatric Cancer Patients at Indus Hospital & Health Network

Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) extends its sincere gratitude to Zahran Children’s Foundation for organizing a joyful and engaging event for pediatric cancer patients at Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus.

The event was held in loving memory of Zahran, the son of Mr. Hassan bin Zahid, Director of Nadeem Textile Mills, and his wife, Mrs. Shafia Hassan. Together, they founded Zahran Children’s Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to raising funds for the treatment of children with cancer at IHHN.

Since 2021, Zahran Children’s Foundation has fully covered the treatment costs of more than 70 children diagnosed with various types of cancer, including germ cell tumors, acute promyelocytic leukemia, B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and Wilms’ tumor. To date, more than 40 of these children have successfully completed their treatment.

In commemoration of Zahran’s birthday, the event took place in the hospital’s pediatric play area, featuring a dramatic story performance by the theater group “Bobbles.” Over 60 pediatric patients were present, who were currently undergoing outpatient, daycare and inpatient treatment. Additionally, snack boxes were distributed to more than 200 children undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Reflecting on the occasion, Mr. Zahid shared, “We began working with Indus Hospital & Health Network three years ago after losing our son to cancer. Since then, our journey with Indus has been incredibly smooth, and we have already supported more than 70 children through the ZCF fund. Our goal is to reach at least 100 this year, inshaALLAH.”

Dr. Shamvil Ashraf, Dr. Muhammad Fareeduddin, Dr. Ahsan Jamiland Syed Mashhood Rizvi expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Hassan and Mrs. Shafia for their unwavering support of IHHN’s missionA pediatric patient “Eman,” also presented Mr. Hassan and his wife with a painting she had made herself.
