A New Era in Sehwan’s Healthcare: The First Delivery at Jahangir Siddiqui Sehwan Maternal and Child Health Centre

Sehwan, Sindh – For years, the people of Sehwan have faced difficulties in accessing quality healthcare. Limited medical facilities and the long distances required to seek treatment have left many without the care they needed.

This began to change with the establishment of the Jahangir Siddiqui Sehwan Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Centre, a project led by the Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) team. With modern medical equipment and a highly trained staff, the center was designed to meet the healthcare needs of the local community. The facility offers free-of-cost, high-quality maternal and child healthcare services, with the generous support of the Mahvash & Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation.

On the morning of December 5th, 2024, a momentous event took place at the center, the birth of its first baby, a healthy boy, bringing joy to the family and marking a historic moment for the community. The baby, affectionately named the “Baby of Alia” represents much more than just a new life,  his birth symbolizes hope, progress, and the realization of a dream for better healthcare in Sehwan.

This milestone illustrates the broader vision of IHHN, which strives to ensure that no one is deprived of healthcare due to financial constraints or geographical barriers. The successful delivery was more than just the birth of a child, it represented a commitment to making healthcare accessible to all, free from the burden of costs or long travels.
