Celebrating World Pharmacist Day: Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Hosts Insightful Seminar
Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH), Muzaffargarh, commemorated World Pharmacist Day by organizing an insightful seminar, attended by a diverse audience of doctors, nurses, and support staff. Key figures in attendance included Head of Campus Dr. Irfan Javed, Faculty Chair Dr. Shiraz Hassan, and Head of Operations Zia Ali Jafri.
Dr. Irfan Javed, Head of Campus, opened the event with a powerful message, emphasizing the indispensable role of pharmacists in the healthcare system. He highlighted that while doctors prescribe treatments, it is pharmacists who ensure patients understand the correct usage of medications and educate them on the potential risks of misuse. Reflecting on history, he noted that knowledge, once reserved for the elite, has become a universal right, underscoring the importance of accessible information in healthcare today.
Dr. Shiraz Hassan, Faculty Chair, praised the pharmacists for their contributions to medical research and innovation, specifically acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the Pharmacy Department at RTEH. He aligned their efforts with the Indus Hospital’s broader vision of delivering healthcare excellence.
Zia Ali Jafri, Head of Operations, stressed the critical role pharmacists play in hospital operations, particularly in patient education regarding medication safety.
