Inspiring the Young Generation Through Volunteerism: iHope Batch 31

Indus Hospital and Health Network recently welcomed the vibrant iHope Batch 31, featuring students from renowned schools across Karachi including World Academy, Blue Jays School, Whales College, Lyceum, Dow University of Health Sciences, Bay View High School, Generation’s School, Alpha College, Government Superior Science & Commerce College, University of Baluchistan, The City School (Gulshan Campus), Askari O/A Levels, Roots Millennium School, Haque Academy, Cedar College, Foundation Public School, Froebel Education Centre, The Indus Academy, DHA College & School System (Seaview, SKBZ Campus), The Learning Tree, Vali Asr Comprehensive School, Nixor O Levels, Reflections, The Avicenna School (Clifton & Tipu Sultan Campuses), Education Bay School, and Beaconhouse School System (Jauhar, Jubilee, and PECHS Campuses), among others.

The volunteers were immersed in activities designed to instill empathy, compassion, and essential life-saving skills such as CPR, First Aid, and fire safety, equipping them with practical knowledge to respond effectively in emergencies. Additionally, they learned soft skills, including effective communication with patients, ensuring their interactions are empathetic and comforting. One of the most impactful experiences for the volunteers was engaging with patients, listening to courageous and inspiring stories that left an indelible mark on their lives, fostering a deeper understanding of strength and resilience within each individual.

The program featured insightful sessions like career talk and effective communication with parents to guide and inspire the volunteers. Furthermore, Dr. Imran Yusuf’s session on mental health highlighted the importance of well-being and self-care. The program concluded with a memorable closing ceremony graced by Dr. Fareed ud Din and Dr. Lubna Mushtaq, who encouraged students to continue engaging in volunteer activities. The ceremony also included a panel discussion where volunteers reflected on how their experiences at Indus Hospital shaped their perceptions and personalities.

Through initiatives like iHope Program, IHHN continues to inspire and nurture the young generation, fostering a culture of empathy, compassion, and community service. By empowering youth with meaningful experiences, the program ensures that the values of volunteerism are deeply rooted in the leaders of tomorrow.
