World Malaria Day Observed at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzaffargarh

Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH), Muzaffargarh marked World Malaria Day with an awareness event, educating staff and patients about the dangers of malaria and ways to prevent and treat it. Dr. Mubashir Khan Manager Community Heald Directorate RTEH, and Dr. Rashid Kamal Head of Infectious Dises Department delivered informative talks, shedding light on the main sources of malaria, its symptoms, and treatment options.

Dr. Mubashir Khan emphasized that “Malaria is a preventable disease, and awareness is key. Simple measures like using insecticide-treated bed nets, wearing protective clothing, and eliminating standing water around homes can significantly reduce the risk of transmission.”

Dr. Rashid Kamal highlighted that “Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial in preventing complications and reducing mortality. It’s essential to recognize symptoms like fever, chills, and flu-like symptoms and seek medical attention promptly.”

The event was attended by doctors from Family Medicine Clinics, as well as hospital management, including Mr. Zia Ali Jafery (Senior Manager Operations), Mr. Usama Riaz Khan (Manager Administration), Mr. Mazhar Abbas (Incharge CRD), and Infectious Control & Public Health teams. The event, organized by CRD Department, aimed to raise awareness about the preventable and treatable nature of malaria, promoting collective efforts to combat this global health hazard.
