Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Muzaffargarh Successfully Conducts Free Spinal Surgeries and Knee Replacements in Collaboration with American Surgeons

In a remarkable collaboration between Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, (RTEH), Muzaffargarh and American surgeons, 49 free-of-cost surgeries were conducted for patients in need at RTEH; including 26 knee replacements, 15 spine surgeries, and 8 sports-related surgeries. Patients from distant areas benefited greatly from these procedures, marking a significant milestone in healthcare accessibility.

One patient, Bakhtawar Shafi, expressed her distress over spinal issues, unable to afford treatment in both government and private hospitals. However, upon learning about free spinal surgery offered at RTEH, she underwent a successful procedure, paving the way for a promising future.

Another patient, Amjad Mukhtar, had endured severe back pain for years but couldn’t afford the expensive treatment. Today, he’s swiftly recovering after receiving a free spinal surgery at RTEH, expressing gratitude towards the institution and its doctors.

Similarly, Haleema Khatoon, hailing from a remote area, suffered from excruciating knee pain, dreaming of knee replacement surgery. RTEH made her dream a reality by providing both knee replacements free of cost, earning her heartfelt appreciation for the hospital and its staff.

The visiting American surgeons also expressed immense satisfaction with their collaboration with RTEH, acknowledging the opportunity to contribute to humanitarian causes. Dr. Gauhar Nawaz Khan, Head of the Orthopedic Department, extended gratitude to the American surgeons and expressed hope for continued cooperation, ensuring ongoing benefits for patients.

Dr. Gauhar Khan emphasized the collective effort of various departments, including administration, food services, housekeeping, maintenance, supply chain, biomedical, IT, general store, security, finance, and surgery theater teams and CRD, in ensuring the success of these surgeries.
