IHHN Marks World Hepatitis Day with Awareness Sessions

Karachi, July 28, 2023 – In observance of World Hepatitis Day, the Hepatitis C control program team at Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) took proactive steps to raise awareness about the disease. Under the theme “We are not waiting,” as designated by the World Health Organization (WHO), IHHN conducted informative sessions at Martin Dow -Indus Health Network Community Health Centre, Indus Hospital Fakir Trust Campus, and Indus Hospital, Korangi campus. The awareness sessions were strategically conducted at family medicine patient waiting areas to involve not only the patients but their families too. The audiences were educated regarding Hepatitis B and C infection, sign and symptoms, complications, treatment, and prevention. Major emphasis was given to how the infection spread in the local community. The initiative yielded positive results as attendees actively participated by raising questions and contributing to discussions. Through the event, the Hepatitis C control program team successfully delivered crucial information about the disease and equipped its community with the necessary tools to combat Hepatitis C.
