i-Hope Summer Volunteer Program launched in Lahore at Indus Hospital, Jubilee Town, Lahore Campus

Indus Hospital & Health Network launched its first i-Hope Volunteer Program at its Jubilee Town, Lahore Campus. 26 Students from Roots IVY School; Learning Alliance International; International School, Lahore; Rak Turk Maarif International School & Colleges attended the week-long program and actively participated in a myriad of activities.

The students were divided into four groups and were engaged in various activities which included tour of the Indus Hospital’s Jubilee Town, Lahore Campus and Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Bedian Campus and meeting with the patients both in adult and pediatric wards and out-patient clinics. Students learnt about the real-life stories and challenges of the patients and also distributed gifts to spread smiles amongst them. Additionally, the students attended sessions on Empathy; Health & Safety; Mental Wellbeing; Giving Back to Society; Health & Nutrition; Art Therapy and Motivation.

On the closing day of the program, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President IHHN urged the student volunteers to dream big, act with good intention and make their vision a reality. Fueled with passion and empathy Lalain Sheikh, one of the volunteers said, “It was an eye-opening experience for me. Taking part in this program has made me a grounded person and made me realize how blessed I am,”

Congratulating the 1^st batch for their achievements, Dr Tasmaan Ibne Rasa, CEO IHHN, North appreciated the commitment students had shown to support the cause of Indus. He and other senior faculty and management staff presented the volunteers with acknowledgement certificates.

 Background

The i-Hope Volunteer Program falls under the umbrella of Indus Yaqeen – a unique platform launched by IHHN for the youth to unleash their energies and power to shape the society we live in. Through the i-Hope Volunteer Program, students are provided the opportunity to develop their leadership and public-speaking skills. Additionally, during this program, values such as empathy and giving back to society are inculcated in students. IHHN has been arranging this volunteer program since 2015 in Karachi; however, it was arranged for the first time in Lahore in 2023. The 1^st batch of i-Hope Volunteers will join the program’s alumni network and will become IHHN’s upcoming avant-gardists.
