Dr. Abdul Bari Khan Attends 7th International Conference on Lifestyle Medicine

Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN) President and CEO, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, participated in the inaugural session of the 7th International Conference on Lifestyle Medicine, bringing together prominent leaders from Pakistan’s health, medical education, and public health sectors.
The high-level inaugural session was attended by Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal, Former Federal Minister for National Health Services Dr. Zafar Mirza, and senior representatives and leaders from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Army, World Health Organization (WHO), Riphah International University, and other leading health institutions.
Dr. Abdul Bari Khan addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of prevention, healthy lifestyles, and evidence-based approaches in strengthening healthcare outcomes and addressing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Pakistan. His participation reflected IHHN’s continued commitment to advancing preventive and patient-centered healthcare.
A key announcement at the conference came from CPSP President Prof. Shoaib Shafi, who announced plans to train more than 40,000 postgraduate trainees in Lifestyle Medicine and introduce an MCPS program in Lifestyle Medicine.
The conference marked an important step towards strengthening collaboration among healthcare institutions, academia, and policymakers to advance Lifestyle Medicine and support a stronger national response to NCDs.
