IHHN Bids Farewell to Dr. Muhammad Shamvil Ashraf, Honours His Dedicated Services to Indus Hospital

Indus Hospital & Health Network bid a warm farewell to Dr. Muhammad Shamvil Ashraf, Executive Director, Medical Services Directorate and Senior Consultant, Pediatric Oncology, in recognition of his valuable contributions and dedicated service to the organization.

The farewell gathering was attended by members of the clinical and non clinical teams. Colleagues from the clinical staff paid tribute to Dr. Shamvil’s dedication, professionalism, and commitment to patient care, acknowledging his valuable contributions to Indus Hospital and the Network.

Dr. Shamvil, an MBBS, MCPS, FCPS and MRCP qualified pediatric oncologist, completed his MBBS from Dow Medical College, Karachi, and specialised in pediatric oncology in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Before joining IHHN, he served at several leading healthcare institutions, including Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, Lahore, Ziauddin Cancer Hospital, Karachi, and Children Cancer Hospital, Karachi. He joined The Indus Hospital in 2014, where he continued his commitment to advancing childhood cancer care.

Throughout his career at IHHN, Dr. Shamvil remained dedicated to improving childhood cancer awareness, treatment, and survival, while working towards establishing replicable medical service frameworks across the Indus Hospital & Health Network. His contributions have been particularly significant in the development and strengthening of pediatric oncology services at IHHN.

Dr. Shamvil is also a founder member of Children Cancer Foundation Pakistan Trust and Founder and Chief Executive of Children Cancer Hospital. He is a Founder and Past President of the Pakistan Society of Paediatric Oncology (PSPO) and has been associated with national and international professional organisations, including the Society of International Paediatric Oncology (SIOP), POEM, and Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA)

Speaking on the occasion, the senior leadership acknowledged Dr. Shamvil’s dedicated services and valuable contributions to Indus Hospital & Health Network. They appreciated his unwavering commitment to patient care, clinical excellence, and his significant role in strengthening childhood cancer care at IHHN. His dedication and efforts towards establishing and advancing childhood cancer services were recognised as an important contribution to the Network’s mission of providing quality, compassionate healthcare to patients in need.

The event concluded with colleagues expressing their gratitude for Dr. Shamvil’s services and extending their best wishes for his future endeavours.
