After 15 Years of Waiting, Hope Blossoms at GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital
For 15 years, Shehzadi and her husband, Imran, carried the pain of infertility. Despite consulting numerous healthcare providers and undergoing multiple treatments in their hometown of Bahawalpur, Punjab, their dream of becoming parents remained unfulfilled.
Their journey took an unexpected turn when the couple relocated to Gwadar a year ago in search of new opportunities. Along with a fresh start, they found renewed hope at the GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital.
When Shehzadi visited the hospital, she was carefully assessed by the attending physician, who listened to her medical history and conducted a thorough evaluation. Following the assessment, she was prescribed a one-month course of treatment.
Just 15 days later, Shehzadi received the life-changing news she had been waiting 15 years to hear—she was pregnant.
Her pregnancy, however, was considered high-risk due to pre-existing hypertension and diabetes. Throughout this challenging period, the multidisciplinary team at GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital closely monitored her condition to ensure the safety of both mother and baby.
After being hospitalized for six days, Shehzadi was discharged, but shortly after returning home, she experienced severe pregnancy-related complications and was rushed back to the hospital. The medical team responded immediately, performing an emergency Caesarean section.
The procedure was successful, and Shehzadi safely delivered a healthy baby girl.
Reflecting on her experience, Shehzadi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the hospital staff for the compassionate care she received throughout her journey.
“I had no female relative with me, but the female staff at the hospital supported me like family. I will always keep this institution in my prayers. May Almighty Allah keep this institution standing forever.”
Shehzadi Imran
Dr. Mahrukh Aslam, the attending physician, encouraged women facing similar challenges to seek timely medical care.
“We want the people of Gwadar and the surrounding areas to know that such cases are successfully managed at GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital. Women should not delay seeking treatment. Our hospital is available 24 hours a day to serve the community.”
