Shaping Tomorrow’s Healthcare Leaders: IHHN North Region Successfully Completes First Batch of “Working Aid – Future Leaders Program

As part of its continued commitment to talent development, capacity building, and community engagement, The Indus Hospital & Health Network – North Region is proudly advancing its “Working Aid – Future Leaders Program,” a structured internship initiative designed to prepare aspiring students for the evolving demands of the healthcare industry.

The program provides students with a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on exposure, workplace readiness, and practical learning experience within a professional healthcare environment. Through multidisciplinary departmental rotations, mentorship from experienced professionals, and outcome-based assignments, interns are introduced to the unique healthcare model and organizational values of IHHN.

Formally launched in July 2025 by Dr. Shafeeq Haider, CEO, IHHN North Region, the program began with a comprehensive orientation session organized by the Human Resource Department and has since continued to provide meaningful learning opportunities for aspiring professionals across various disciplines.

In addition to operational learning, the program emphasizes professional and personal development through dedicated capacity-building sessions led by internal and external trainers. These sessions focus on ethical leadership, communication skills, collaboration, professional grooming, and healthcare system awareness — helping participants build both technical and interpersonal competencies essential for future careers.

Since its launch, the initiative has received an encouraging response from students belonging to diverse academic backgrounds, reflecting the growing interest among young professionals in meaningful learning opportunities within the healthcare sector. The program continues to serve as a platform for aspiring individuals to enhance their skills, broaden their perspectives, and develop a deeper understanding of compassionate and community-centered healthcare services.

Speaking about the vision behind the initiative, Umair Abbasi, Head of Human Resource (North), shared: “This initiative is not just about internship placement; it is about nurturing professionals who are not only job-ready but also value-driven. We believe this program is an investment in the future of healthcare and community-centered leadership.”

The “Working Aid – Future Leaders Program” reflects IHHN North Region’s ongoing dedication to empowering the next generation of capable, ethical, and compassionate professionals who will contribute positively to the future of healthcare and society.
