Indus University Hospital Karachi Expands Emergency Services with New Fracture Room

Indus University Hospital Karachi has strengthened its emergency care services with the inauguration of a new Emergency Fracture Room in its new building. The initiative has been undertaken in response to the increasing patient load, aiming to ensure timely treatment and reduce overcrowding in the emergency department.

The hospital already had one Emergency Fracture Room; however, due to the growing influx of patients, a second unit has now been established to enhance patient facilitation and minimize waiting time.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Syed Ali Anwar Jilani , Head of Department (HOD) and Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, stated that this step was essential to further improve patient care and effectively manage the rising number of emergency cases. He added that the new facility will significantly help in reducing patient rush.

Dr. Ashar Alam, Medical Director, Indus University Hospital Karachi, emphasized that providing timely and efficient emergency care is a core responsibility of the hospital. He noted that such initiatives reflect the institution’s commitment to continuously improving patient services.

Dr. Saima Ali, Head of Department (HOD) and Consultant, Emergency Services, and Dr. Syed Ghazanfar Saleem , Chair – Emergency Services and Consultant – Adult Emergency Medicine, were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

Dr. Jilani further shared that the Orthopedic Department remains operational 24/7 to handle emergency cases. He highlighted that the addition of the new Emergency Fracture Room will not only benefit patients but will also enable healthcare staff to deliver prompt and more effective treatment.

The inauguration of the new facility marks another important step towards enhancing emergency healthcare services at Indus University Hospital Karachi, ensuring better access and improved care for patients.
