Chief Minister Balochistan Inaugurates Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti Memorial Hospital in Baiker Managed By The Indus Hospital & Health Network
The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, inaugurated the Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti Memorial Hospital, marking a significant milestone in improving access to quality healthcare in the remote region of Baiker. The 40-bed hospital, managed by the Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), was formally inaugurated on this occasion and has been serving the local population since becoming operational in November 2024.
To date, the hospital has treated over 33,000 patients, providing free and quality healthcare and establishing itself as a critical lifeline for communities in and around Baiker.
Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti said, “The inauguration of Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti Memorial Hospital reflects our commitment to ensuring that even the most remote areas of Balochistan have access to quality healthcare. This facility is not just a hospital; it is a promise fulfilled for the people of Baiker.” He added that the availability of essential services alongside maternal and neonatal care will play a crucial role in improving health outcomes for women and children across the region.
The hospital provides a comprehensive range of services, including a 24/7 Accident and Emergency department, a fully functional Operating Theatre, inpatient care for men, women, and pediatric patients, maternal, neonatal, and child health services, diagnostic facilities, mental health support, nutrition services, and a blood bank.
Speaking at the event, representatives from the Community Health Directorate (CHD), IHHN, stated, “Serving the people of Baiker is an honor for Indus Hospital & Health Network. This hospital represents our holistic approach to healthcare, where treatment, dignity, and access go hand in hand.” They further noted that the facility will continue to strengthen healthcare access and improve the quality of life for communities in the region.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Community Health Directorate (CHD) team presented a commemorative shield to Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti on behalf of Dr. Mah Talat, Executive Director, and Dr. Zafar Zaidi, Chief Executive Officer, IHHN, as a token of appreciation and partnership in strengthening healthcare services in Balochistan.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by government officials, local elders, and community members, who welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that the hospital will continue to serve as a cornerstone of healthcare for Baiker and surrounding areas.
