Life Saved in Critical Hour: Public Welfare Hospital, Sui Performs Rare Dual Surgery on Expectant Mother
Sui, Dera Bugti — A mother from the Loti area of District Dera Bugti was brought to Public Welfare Hospital, Sui (managed by Indus Hospital & Health Network) in critical condition at full term. She had suffered an intrauterine death and arrived with the fetus in an abnormal position and an arm prolapsed — a situation that posed immediate risk to her life.
On arrival, Dr. Qandeel (Gynae Surgeon) performed an emergency cesarean section. During the operation the surgical team discovered an unexpected, massive ovarian dermoid cyst measuring more than 20 cm. Dr. Hanif Bugti (General Surgeon) was called in immediately and working seamlessly with the obstetrics team removed the entire mass during the same operation.
Thanks to swift decision-making and excellent teamwork, both the cesarean section and the tumor excision were completed without complications. The mother remained stable throughout and in the immediate postoperative period.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the operating theatre team, anesthetists, nursing staff and all support personnel whose tireless efforts ensured the patient’s safety during this complex procedure. This successful intervention reflects the Public Welfare Hospital, Sui’s commitment to bringing high-quality, compassionate care to the people of Baluchistan.
