Dr. Sikandar Ali Mandhro Civil Hospital Badin Hosts Research Methodology Workshop

Dr. Sikandar Ali Mandhro Civil Hospital Badin (Indus Hospital Badin Campus) successfully organized a two-day Research Methodology Workshop on August 4 and 5, aimed at enhancing the research skills of healthcare professionals. The event, held at the hospital’s Seminar Hall, was organized under the leadership of the Research Chair and Medical Director, Indus Hospital Badin.

Day 1 (August 4) focused on Ethics and IRB (Institutional Review Board) Processes, led by Ms. Surhan Badar, IRB Coordinator at ORIC. Participants gained valuable insights into: The process for obtaining IRB approval, Minimum document requirements for IRB submission, Types and timelines of IRB review, Mandatory IRB training, including CITI certification, Common errors in preparing informed consent forms.

Day 2 (August 5) centered on Research Synopsis and Data Management, conducted by Ms. Nida Ghouri, Manager ORIC, with a special presentation by Syed Abdullah Hasan. The sessions covered: Writing an effective research synopsis, Study design and statistical analysis plans

Data entry and management using REDCap software.

 The workshop provided a platform for doctors to strengthen their research capabilities, promote ethical research practices, and improve data management skills. Speaking at the closing session, the organizers emphasized the importance of research in improving patient care, evidence-based practices, and advancing medical knowledge. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the facilitators and participants for their active engagement.
