Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus Observes World Malaria Day with Community Awareness Activities

Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, observed World Malaria Day with a series of engaging awareness activities organized by the Malaria Team in collaboration with the Community Engagement & Communication Team, under the supervision of Dr. Afsheen Faraz.

The activities were conducted across the Family Medicine Department, Emergency, and Consultant Clinic, aiming to educate patients and attendants about malaria prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment options.

The event featured a creative skit performed by health workers, Ms. Fatima and Ms. Sana, highlighting the importance of malaria prevention through an engaging and relatable storyline. Their performance successfully captured the attention of the audience and conveyed crucial health messages in an interactive manner.

Additionally, Medical Officer Dr. Areeba Fatima delivered a detailed presentation on malaria transmission, symptoms, preventive strategies, and the significance of seeking timely medical care. A Q&A session followed, allowing patients and attendants to raise questions and clarify common concerns about malaria.

The CEC Team further extended their outreach by organizing awareness sessions in open waiting areas, distributing educational materials, and engaging with patients through one-on-one conversations. These efforts helped reinforce key malaria prevention messages across different sections of the hospital.

As part of the campaign, special emphasis was placed on promoting the Malaria Clinic at the Family Medicine Department, where free diagnostic tests and medications are offered to ensure timely and accessible care for all patients.

The successful event was made possible through the enthusiastic efforts of the Malaria and CEC teams, including Ms. Abida, Mr. Yasir, Mr. Abdul Rehman, Mr. Abid, Ms. Sana, Ms. Dania, and Ms. Naseem. Special appreciation is extended to Mr. Farman Jamil for his valuable operational and technical support in executing the event seamlessly.
