Young Healthcare Graduates Celebrate Programme Completion

The Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) proudly celebrated the final cohort of the ‘Get Into Healthcare’ programme at an event in Karachi on January 16. Since its inception in 2022, the programme has successfully trained 278 young individuals, equipping them with essential skills to pursue careers in the healthcare sector.

The initiative, delivered in collaboration with Chanan Development Association and supported by King’s Trust International, provides technical and life skills training for aspiring Nursing Assistants, Hospital Technicians, and Community Midwives. At the recent ceremony, 37 graduates were honored for their achievements, marking the programme’s impactful conclusion in Pakistan.

Joanna Parsons, Director of Programmes at King’s Trust International, emphasized the significance of the initiative:

“Young people often face challenges transitioning from education to employment. Through the ‘Get Into Healthcare’ programme, we have provided pathways for over 200 young individuals to develop their skills and achieve their career goals.”

Executive Director of Chanan Development Association, Shahzad Khan, also lauded the programme:

“We take pride in our partnership with IHHN and King’s Trust International in equipping young people with vital soft skills. These competencies foster confidence, professional growth, and personal development. We especially commend the courageous young women breaking societal barriers to make meaningful contributions to healthcare.”

Dr. Ghina Shamim Shamsi, Associate Dean at the Indus University of Health Sciences, highlighted the programme’s lasting impact:

“It is a proud moment for Indus to witness another batch of successful graduates. We encourage them to apply their knowledge efficiently and continue serving those in need. No matter where their careers take them, we hope they strive for excellence and create a positive impact.”

The ‘Get Into Healthcare’ programme stands as a testament to IHHN’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals, empowering them with the skills necessary to build a brighter future.
