Indus Hospital Celebrates Successful Treatment of Persons with Disabilities and Club Foot Patients in Badin

Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) commemorated a significant achievement in providing life-altering care to individuals with disabilities, including those affected by clubfoot, during a special event at Dr. Sikandar Ali Mandhro Civil Hospital, Badin. The gathering celebrated the successful treatments and surgeries performed by the hospital’s dedicated orthopedic team.

The event brought together esteemed guests, including Dr. Ameen Chinoy, Executive Director of IHHN; Dr. Anjum Soomro, District Health Officer of Badin; Dr. Salman Imtiaz from the Medical Directorate of the Badin Campus; and other notable medical professionals such as Dr. Ali Anwar Jilani, Head of Orthopedics at Indus Hospital Karachi, and Dr. Umair Khan, Head of Orthopedics at Badin. The presence of patients, their families, and community leaders highlighted the far-reaching impact of the hospital’s initiatives.

Addressing the attendees, Dr. Ameen Chinoy emphasized the transformative role of high-quality medical care in improving the lives of individuals living with disabilities. He reiterated IHHN’s commitment to offering life-changing treatments and underscored the importance of empowering patients to regain independence and lead fulfilling lives.

Dr. Anjum Soomro praised IHHN’s relentless efforts in providing critical care, especially for clubfoot patients, noting that over one million people in Pakistan are living with disabilities. He highlighted the hospital’s unwavering dedication to delivering free, high-quality healthcare to underserved communities.

The event also featured remarks from Dr. Ali Anwar Jilani and Dr. Mohammad Waseem Memon, who shared insights into the challenges of treating severe cases of disability and the success of early interventions, particularly for children born with clubfoot. Dr. Jilani commended the Badin team for their expertise in treating over 1,800 patients, while Dr. Memon encouraged families to seek timely treatment to prevent lifelong limitations.

Highlighting the broader impact of IHHN’s orthopedic program, Dr. Chinoy shared that over 8,000 patients from regions including Muzaffargarh, Lahore, Badin, and Karachi are currently under treatment, with more than 17,000 individuals already treated across other areas such as Amarkot, Sajawal, and Thatta.
