World Heart Day at Civil Hospital Badin: A Powerful Step Towards Reducing Heart Disease
Dr. Sikandar Ali Mandhro Civil Hospital Badin, managed by the Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), celebrated World Heart Day with an impactful awareness event focused on promoting heart health. The event, held on September 29, 2024, aimed to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases and encourage healthier lifestyle choices among the community.
The program began with an insightful session by Dr. Arshad Ali Khuwaja, who discussed this year’s theme, “Use Heart for Action.” Dr. Khuwaja emphasized the importance of proactive measures for heart care, including regular exercise, a balanced diet, and avoiding harmful habits like smoking. He also spoke about how small changes can make a big difference in reducing the risk of heart disease.
Following Dr. Khuwaja, Dr. Shahnawaz Karim delivered an informative talk, sharing key facts about heart disease and effective prevention strategies. He provided practical tips for the audience on how to incorporate heart-healthy habits into their daily lives.
The event concluded with a speech from the Head of Campus, Dr. Sikandar Ali Memon, who highlighted the significance of World Heart Day and the collective responsibility to promote heart health within the community. He emphasized that through education and awareness, we can combat the rising prevalence of heart disease.
To mark the occasion, a cake-cutting ceremony was held, followed by an awareness walk. Faculty members, staff, and community members joined in to show their commitment to heart health. Dr. Salman Imtiaz, Director of the Medical Directorate, was also present, lending his support to this important initiative.
