Indus Hospital & Health Network Partners with POS to Enhance Pulmonary Rehabilitation Services

On Wednesday 4^th September, Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) and Power of Sharing (POS), a Canada-based NGO led by Ms. Shazia Farooqi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program (PuRe) services. POS, is located in Mississauga, Canada and renowned for its philanthropic projects aimed at alleviating poverty globally, with a significant focus on Pakistan.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Zafar Zaidi, CEO of IHHN, and Farrah Kureishy, a board member of POS in Karachi, Pakistan. The primary objective of this partnership is to enhance the PuRe Program, a comprehensive 6–8-week multidisciplinary intervention designed to support patients with chronic respiratory diseases. The program includes physiotherapy, nutritional counseling, mental health support, inhaler education, and free transportation services.

Both parties are committed to strengthening the existing infrastructure and support systems to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of the PuRe Program.

At the signing ceremony, Dr. Zafar Zaidi expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “I am eager to work with the Power of Sharing to significantly impact the lives of chronic respiratory patients. This partnership will help us manage their symptoms cost-effectively while delivering high-quality care and services.”

The ceremony was attended by other dignitaries, including Lung Health Director Dr. Saima Saeed and Faryal Kamran of the Faryal Kamran Initiative, alongside various officials.
