Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital and Population Welfare Department Punjab Collaborate to Promote Optimal Birth Spacing and Happy, Healthy Families
Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH) in Muzaffargarh, in collaboration with the Family Welfare Centers (FWC) at the Population Welfare Department Punjab, recently organized a highly impactful awareness campaign called “Optimal Birth Spacing and Happy Family Planning.” The primary objective of this campaign was to educate women visiting the antenatal care clinic and Family Medicine Clinic on the critical importance of maintaining appropriate gaps between childbirths, while also promoting the concept of smaller, happier families.
Throughout the campaign, women attending the outpatient department were provided with comprehensive information and participated in awareness sessions. Counseling sessions were also conducted specifically for mothers-in-law to address the traditional desire for a higher number of births, without considering the health implications for their daughters-in-law.
Esteemed medical professionals from RTEH, including Senior Medical Officer Dr. Namrah Zubair, Dr. Misbah, Dr. Rabia, Dr. Samia, and Dr. Aqsa, joined forces with Ms. Uzma Shahzadi, a family welfare worker, and Marina Sajjad, a family welfare assistant from the Population Welfare Department, Government of Punjab. Together, they worked tirelessly to raise awareness about the significance of optimal birth spacing and the overall well-being of families.
This joint initiative between Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital and the Population Welfare Department Punjab has played a vital role in spreading awareness and advocating for healthy family planning practices. By emphasizing the importance of optimal birth spacing, the campaign seeks to ensure the well-being of both mothers and children. It is a commendable effort that aims to empower women and their families with knowledge and understanding to make informed choices for a happier and healthier future.
