Spreading Eid Joy to Pediatric Patients: The Impact of Indus Eidi Program and Ambassadors’ Drive
The blessed month of Ramazan is incomplete without the joyous celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr. However, for many pediatric patients at Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) who are battling life-threatening conditions, this joy can feel out of reach as they continue their treatment even during the festivities. At IHHN, compassion goes beyond obligation—it is a heartfelt mission to stand by patients at every step of their journey. To bring Eid happiness to these young patients, the “Indus Eidi” program was launched in 2023, ensuring that the generosity of donors is multiplied through a sponsor, enabling pediatric patients to receive life-saving treatment while also partaking in the celebrations with Eid gifts.
Last year, the impact of Indus Eidi was profound. With the multiplied contributions of Zakat and Sadqa, IHHN successfully provided 2,840 pediatric patients with family medicine consultations, specialist care, and emergency medical services. Additionally, 550 Eid gifts were received in-kind from generous donors and distributed to pediatric patients, bringing smiles to their faces during the festive season. The program reflects values of compassion, generosity, and inclusivity, ensuring that children at IHHN experience the joy of Eid despite their medical struggles. By multiplying donations through Zakat and Sadqa, this initiative not only provides essential medical care but also Eid gifts, reinforcing IHHN’s mission of care, dignity, and community support.
To amplify the impact of Indus Eidi in 2025 and maximize contributions for pediatric patients, renowned actors Sania Saeed and Hajra Yamin joined the campaign as ambassadors. Leveraging their credibility and influence, they spearheaded a targeted fundraising drive to raise PKR 10 million by mobilizing their networks, including fellow artists, influencers, and philanthropists. To date, PKR 255,616/- has been raised toward this goal. In addition, on April 1, 2025, under the Indus Eidi initiative, 300 Eid gifts—including clothing, toys, and food items—were distributed among pediatric patients, ensuring they could share in the joy of Eid.
