Dr. Umair Haroon Appointed Media Goodwill Ambassador for Indus Hospital & Health Network

Karachi,– The Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Umair Haroon as its new Media Goodwill Ambassador.

Dr. Umair Haroon is a respected media professional and healthcare advocate, currently serving as President of Metro 1 News and Project Director at Voice of Sindh. He is also the only Pakistani member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (International Emmy Awards). With his extensive background in communication, leadership, and social advocacy, Dr. Umair brings a unique blend of media expertise and humanitarian vision to his new role.

Through this partnership, Dr. Umair Haroon will support IHHN’s mission to provide free, high-quality healthcare to millions of people across Pakistan. His appointment aims to strengthen the hospital’s outreach efforts by combining media influence with public health awareness, thereby promoting access to equitable medical services nationwide.

Dr. Umair’s involvement underscores IHHN’s commitment to engaging distinguished professionals who share its vision of a healthier and more inclusive society. In his role as Media Goodwill Ambassador, he will focus on advancing public engagement, enhancing visibility for healthcare initiatives, and mobilizing community support for IHHN’s ongoing programs.

Born in Karachi on November 22, 1982, Dr. Umair Haroon holds an MBBS from Sindh Medical College, completed fellowship training in Forensic Medicine at Dow University of Health Sciences, and earned a Master’s in Public Health from SZABIST. Since 2015, he has been an expert member of the National Academy of Young Scientists.

Beyond his scientific and public health credentials, Dr. Umair has built an impressive career in media as a producer and director, receiving multiple awards for his work. His accolades include the Sitara-e-Pakistan Award (2021) for Best Producer, the CSR Award (2022) for Best Producer/Director of the Year, and recognition from the Karachi Bar Association (2025) for his contributions to forensic science and public awareness.
