Certificate Program In Emergency Medicine

The Certification Program in Emergency Medicine (CPEM) is a 12-month competency-based training program which aims to equip physicians working in emergency departments (EDs) with fundamental knowledge and clinical expertise in the practice of emergency care. It was initially developed by Emergency Medicine (EM) experts from Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), Karachi and Brigham and Women’s Hospital – a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School Boston, USA – and launched at TIH in July 2018. Since then, two cohorts have graduated with the third cohort being run simultaneously in Pakistan and Bangladesh with EM faculty from IHHN and University of Pennsylvania (U-Penn). The program is specially focused on middle tier EM physicians to educate them in evidence based emergency care.
