Certificate Program In Emergency Medicine (CPEM)

The Certification Program in Emergency Medicine (CPEM) is a 12-month competency-based training program which aims to equip physicians working in emergency departments (EDs) with fundamental knowledge and clinical expertise in the practice of emergency care. It was initially developed by Emergency Medicine (EM) experts from Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), Karachi and Brigham and Women’s Hospital – a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School Boston, USA – and launched at TIH in July 2018. Since then, two cohorts have graduated with the third cohort being run simultaneously in Pakistan and Bangladesh with EM faculty from IHHN and University of Pennsylvania (U-Penn). The program is specially focused on middle tier EM physicians to educate them in evidence based emergency care.

Foundation Program In Pediatric Emergency Medicine (FPEM)

The Foundation Program in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (F-PEM) is a 1-year simulation-based, modular training program in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The program is being launched this year with an aim to equip PEM physicians with the fundamental knowledge and clinical expertise in EM. The program focuses on clinical management of pediatric pathologies and incorporation of simulation-based, conceptual education in a clinical setting.

Emergency Medicine (EM) Leadership Course

This 5-day, interactive Emergency Medicine Leadership Course will cater to EM leaders, currently working out of both public and private sectors hospitals in Pakistan. The course is designed as an inter-specialty educational endeavor and will include ED physicians, nurses and administrators and will be facilitated by leading national and international EM experts.
