Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and Indus Hospital signed an MoU on Friday to carry out joint efforts to control T.B and Rabies in the city. The Indus Hospital’s (TIH) Blood Center launched its first Mobile Blood Donation Unit on June 14, 2017 in order to celebrate World Blood Donor Day. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) jointly organized an Emergency Room Trauma Course (ERTC) 3 day seminar from 31st May to the 2nd of June with The Indus Hospital (TIH). The seminar provided an intensive course on the various regions of the body that have under gone Trauma. The Commissioner of Karachi, Syed Asif Hyder Shah, visited The Indus Hospital on the 19th of May 2016 and was given a tour of the Hospital by Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, CEO of The Indus Hospital. The Commissioner was taken to the Children’s ward, Open-air Tuberculosis Clinic, Physical Rehabilitation Center and to the other facilities at the hospital where he interacted with the patients at the Hospital. He was moved by what he saw and commended the Indus Hospital’s effort.
Pak-Suzuki blessed The Indus Hospital with a visit on Monday 28th March 2016. The company donated a Suzuki Bolan van for the hospital’s use in a philanthropic gesture. MD Hirofumi Nagao was given a tour of the Hospital’s facilities, including ward and blood bank. Mr. Nagao concluded Pak-Suzuki’s visit by awarding a 50 to 1 scale sized Suzuki key as a memento to Dr. Abdul Bari Khan to honor the Indus Hospital’s efforts in providing free health care to the people.
Celebrity actress Reema visited the Indus Hospital in March of 2016. She was honored with a tour of the Hospital, visiting patients from the various wards to convey her supplication. She enjoyed the occasion with photo sessions with the patients.
The Indus Hospital organized a charity golf tournament at the Karachi Golf Club Karsaz, the event took place on the 22nd of Febraury 2016 with the slogan “Golf can save lives”. Celebrity actor and director Moammar Rana hosted his birthday at The Indus Hospital, February 2016. Mr. Rana was uninformed of the hospitalâ€™s existence, but when he brought in a patient and offered to pay in full he was pleasantly surprised to find out the hospital operated at no cost to the ailing. The Hospital would be allotted an 80 Kanal area of land for aÂ fully equipped Research hospital to be opened in Peshawar. KP Chief Minister Pervez Khatak arranged for an additional 20 Kanal to be dedicated to a fully fledged Neuro-Surgery department, making a total of 100 Kanal area of land.
