Critical Mass Karachi and the Indus Hospital Join Hands to Raise Awareness about Paediatric Cancer The Indus Hospital (TIH) organised a bicycling event in order to raise awareness about paediatric cancer in Pakistan. A team of cycling enthusiasts from Critical Mass Karachi joined hands with TIH. The event took place on March 3, 2019 at Moin Khan Academy, Karachi.
“In Pakistan, annually, approximately 8000 children – under the age of 18 years – are diagnosed with cancer. Hospital collaborated with Department of Emergency Medicine at The Indus Hospital to conduct a 12-month competency-based Certificate Program in Emergency Medicine (CPEM). The programme aims to train medical officers and residents to better manage the initial triage and stabilization of patients with varying medical, surgical and traumatic conditions. Currently, most of the Emergency Departments in Pakistan are staffed by healthcare providers with minimal or no training to handle acute, critical and traumatic conditions, resulting in avoidable poor patient outcomes and patient
‘Clubfoot se Jeet ka Jashan’ is an annual event which Indus Health Network (IHN) holds to celebrate the successful completion of the clubfoot treatment program. The event was held at Korangi Campus on December 29, 2018. Dr Abdul Bari Khan, Chief Executive Officer, IHN; Dr Amin Chinoy, Executive Director, Physical and Rehabilitation Directorate, IHN and other doctors, orthotists, and physiotherapists attended the event.
The Indus Hospital (TIH) has installed a new and most modern Total Lab Automation (TLA) system supplied by Abbott Diagnostics in the Korangi Campus. This state-of-the-art system has been installed with the support of Martin Dow Group which helped Indus Health Network (IHN) in building the laboratory and associated facilities.
