Cerebral Palsy Management Workshop Enhances Patient Care at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzaffargarh

Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH) in Muzaffargarh hosted a Cerebral Palsy Management Workshop on January 4, 2024. The event featured prominent speakers and drew over 30 participants from medical institutions in DG Khan, Nishter Medical College Multan, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffargarh. The participants included medical professionals and students who actively engaged in patient assessments and witnessed a live surgery.

The event featured a number of distinguished speakers. Dr. Gauhar Nawaz Khan delivered a lecture on the proper assessment of children with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Dr. Talha Khalil addressed issues related to CP in the upper limb, and Dr. Muazam Khan provided an introduction to Cerebral Palsy. Additionally, Dr. Umair Ahmad discussed the management of a child with CP, Mr. Azam Fareed covered the role of orthotics, and Mr. Muhammad Naveed discussed the role of physiotherapy in the context of CP.

Dr. Muhammad Saeed and Dr. Gauhar Nawaz Khan, both main speakers, shared their expertise and knowledge, contributing significantly to the participants’ understanding of cerebral palsy management. The hands-on experience provided through the live surgery, conducted by the speakers, proved invaluable for the attendees.

Dr. Gauhar Nawaz Khan thanked the hospital’s Administration, CRD, Housekeeping, and other allied departments for their active support in organizing the workshop. He also appreciated the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment to advancing their medical knowledge.

Certificates were presented to all participants. The Orthopedics department was commended for playing a pivotal role in orchestrating the workshop which aimed to benefit both medical professionals and, most importantly, patients.

Looking ahead, RTEH is committed to organizing more such workshops, to prioritize public well-being and the continuous improvement of patient care. The success of this event marks a positive step towards fostering a collaborative and informed medical community in the region.
